This site is dedicated to the memory of Geoffrey Jones.

Geoffrey was born in Southsea, Hampshire on May 02, 1925. Shortly afterwards he moved to Marlborough, in Wiltshire, where he spent all his young life. Geoffrey lived with his and parents and his brother David in the Repeater Station - where his father was a Telecommunications Engineer.
When Geoffrey started work for The Post Office, following in his fathers footsteps, as an engineer helping to ensure the Telephone exchanges could pass messages from one to the next, he moved to Bristol, then Swindon and later to West London. Promotion resulted in Geoffrey being offered a job in the City of London, just behind St. Pauls Cathedral. This remained his place of work until his retirement, commuting first from Richmond, then Feltham and then from Shepperton, to where he moved in 1958, with his wife Joy and Joy's father Frank.
Geoffrey had many interests - his garden, woodwork, Photography, local politics, local history and travel - initially in the UK - especially Scotland, but in retirement all over the world. Geoffrey enjoyed travelling with his wife to her childhood homes - India & Burma. Smitten by the pleasures of foreign travel, holidays followed to the USA, Japan, Europe, Oman, Russia and Scandinavia.
Latterly Geoffrey enjoyed very much his involvement with St. Nicholas Church, in Shepperton - taking part and offering guidance in all that the church offered.
Geoffrey will always be remembered by his friends and family for his gentlemanly manner, his willingness to help and the thoroughness with which he took on every task.
